“On the second day of Restaurant week my true love gave to me, A trip to Famicia in ole city” Ya, ya I ain’t no Sinatra when it come to da pipes but Restaurant week is like Christmas to me. Well my second trip on dis wonderful week was Farmicia in ole city. Normally I like to avoid da trendy upscale places that reside in old city, but this wasn’t my pick and I didn’t have to drive so I was in. I got there a little early so I could grab a drink or two and guess what Tina and Gina was already at da bar drinking some kind of tonics. Well Farmicia has deez tonics that have some kinda of positive effect on you, dey range from say like “rejuvenation” to say like “resistance”. Well living in your parent’s basement isn’t all what it is cracked up to be and I had a tough day at da track so tensions where high when I met deez two broads I was plainly irate. I decided to try something new and went for the relaxation Tonic. Now normally I wouldn’t be caught dead wit a martini glass in my hand if I was in da neighborhood but since I was da toughest guy in a one mile radius, I decided to give it a shot. Lemme tell ya sumtin, this was a great experience after about 5 of deez things cause cuz, I was relaxed. I am telling you deez things work. Anyways, we sat down to have our meal and looking at the menu for restaurant week I thought there was a problem because I didn’t see a smaller separate menu. Long story longer, Farmicia pretty much keeps their menu intact for restaurant week. For an appetizer, I went wit da jumbo lump crab cake as did Gina and it was delicious. For dinner I went with da swordfish topped wit diced sweet & sour eggplant sided wit baked polenta (fancy for corn meal) and broccoli rabe. Usually I am steak guy, but wit sides like this I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to eat some swordfish and it was awesome. Tina got a Rib-eye which she said was cooked perfectly, potatoes wit sautéed greens & blue cheese butter. Finally Gina rocked a Boneless Pork Chop wit mashed sweet potatoes, greens, wit some apple thing on top that also looked quite appetizing. For dessert, I had a crème brulee wit some sort of cookie, which I thought wasn’t bad. I also had an opportunity to try Tina’s Fruit crisp wit ice cream when she got real into telling a story about her deadbeat boyfriend to her girlfriend and man that was even better. Guess what? All da ingredients that are used in preparing da meals are from local vendors which I thought was a nice touch. So check out Farmicia it worth leaving da neighborhood for.
Ole City must print its own currency because this place is starting to become as expensive as say New York, then again I wouldn’t know cause I never have been to NYC. As far as competition within the city resides you could do worse.
Take a cab plain and simple, ole city could be worse it could be better, there are a few lots in the area, but they hit you harder than a ten dewers on the rocks.
