So, I am never usually up in da morning unless my ma has a doctor’s appointment, my dad needs to get picked up from a late night at da club or I have tied on a load from da night before. So I was heading out to church when my stomach decided to detour directly to some breakfast. One of my favorite spots in Queen Village for breakfast is da Pink Rose on 4th and Bainbridge. Much like me, as you approach dis place you can smell dem a half a block away. Deez guys are always hard at work, cookin an array of delicious pastries, cookies, cakes, pies you name it. They have some outstanding sweets dat include the famous banana cream pie and my personal favorite carrot cake. The Pink Rose also has a small seating area that you can grab a coffee or tea while you devour your preferred weight gainer. Personally, I feel the seating inside is small and cramped, especially during the summer months when it gets a little hectic. Not to mention, if you got a hangover heads up, it’s more of a sauna then a pastry shop in August. Da Pink Rose also has a breakfast and lunch menu, which makes it a nice little spot around South Street without the hustle and bustle. Prices on da menu are pretty reasonable and I highly recommend da custom omelet, pancakes, and French toast (as well as an IROC Z). When you get a pastry shop that’s actually makin pancakes and French toast chances are they are gonna be good, and da Pink Rose is no exception. The Pink Rose’s food is always good, if not amazing, but there are some minor things they do that kinda piss me off. First of all, they ration their ketchup. This I don’t get cuz, and is a definite problem for a guy who likes ketchup about as much as his mother’s gravy. Another thing I find more atrocious then a bar that ran out Dewers, is their service. More often than not, I have been ignored by servers who appear to squeamish to even converse with me. I am constantly reminded that even Fat Joe has to put up with some people not recognizing him out in public. But guess what, you won’t be disappointed in their quality of food or reasonable price. Keep in mind, if you go in their lookin to rehydrate after a night of boozing, forggitabutit.

Prices here are reasonable when compared to the quality of da food (especially da pastries). Long story short dis place won’t break your bank roll too much.

Much like me on a load, parking here is brutal to deal with. Even wit da metered parking and nearby over priced parking lots it still sucks worse than the Sixers.
