Fat Joe knows a thing or two about a thing or two, Hostaria da Elio, an excellent restaurant which in American means the “house of elio” and man you can’t beat this grub. You should have seen the iron frying pan my mutha beat me with when I told her that the gravy at Hostaria was as good as hers. Honestly, I didn’t know she was gonna react like that, she is crazy woman sometimes and Christ lets face it, she's like a samuri wit dat pan. Anyways, I had a hot date wit dis girl named Gina(who cost me $200 for the night) I decided to take my buddies advice and head to the special spot Hostaria da Elio. Hostaria, is a BYOB so be prepared to grab a bottle or two of Mad Dog 20/20 if you are gonna eat here. The seating area is a bit cramped for my large rump but it wasn’t as bad as some places I've gorged at. I mean, it’s a row home, what do you want? They did make good use of the space they have by including the outside seating area and they have a variety of daily specials which compliment their very thin menu. The kitchen here is small but Elio seems to get some of the best tasting food I have ever had to come out of it. Every dish I have gobbled down is excellent and food that is as good as my moms should get what they deserve. The grub is so good I am hoping that Gina return wit me for my company not Elio’s cooking (besides the $200). Elio is constantly around checking on his customers so I get a free chance to slap him in the mouth every time he runs by. By far, a great BYOB with some amazing grub from top to bottom. The only gripe I might have is that the portions might be a little small. When you got the appetite of a hippopotamus, I mean lets face it, a lot goes a long way.
Prices for Hostaria are reasonable and although might be slightly more expensive then your normal dinner at the Spagetti Warehouse, it is well worth it. Also when you sneak in your own bottle of booze you take a couple dollars off of the top no matter what.
Straight up the parking directly off of south street is not a very good one. There is a couple of lots in the area but they all cost dough. Parking on the street (if you are lucky enough to find one) is mostly two hours as it is. Everyone knows it takes longer then two hours for me to eat, so this is a problem.
