I had a hot date on Tuesday night so I had to leave the race track early to get home and change my shirt. Do you believe dis broad cawlinme up soon as I walked into Bistro Romano and told me she couldn't make it? What’s better then sharing a few laughs, few bottles of wine and da check wit Fat Joe? Anyways, There I am, at Bistro Romano all by my lonesome about to eat some dinner. Now I got to admit, even though I usually sleep in my mother's basement, da downstairs seating in dis place looked nuttin like it. The dining area was a bit dark only lit by a few candles. Which is very good for me, cuz it was hard to see. Speakin of romance, is buyin a vacuum cleaner for your girl ok for Valentines day? They did a nice table side caesar salad that was a unique touch but seemed like more of a chore den a gimmick. Sides dat, the garlic was givin me agida. My chicken and sausage over some pasta came out very well and tasted delicious. What really saved dis meal from being a total disaster was da dessert. Oh man, that crazy white moose in that chocolate shell was outstandin. It was so amazin, it was up der wit hittin a 60 to 1 longshot at da track (coincidently da same odds as me getting a date). Like I was sayin, the food was very good and worth hittin for a da atmosphere, for that, they get four cheesesteaks.
I got to tell yous it was a tough week at the track and I was even worse on the football games. The bill I got didn't split my cash wad like my pants. According to their website, which looks like its from 1987, Bistro Romano does a pasta night on Mondays and a Lobster night on Tuesdays. When I sat my wide load ass in that seat however, I didn't see nuttin about no lobster. What gives? I dunno. Another cool thing Bistro Romano participates in is restaurant week. I mean, its a nice gesture all in all, at least they are trying to give somethin back.
Like most spots down near South Street the Bistro Romano doesn't have its own lot. There are a few lots in the area but they hit you hard for the dough and sometimes when there is a gay boy band or some hip hop wrapper down at the TLA that area is mobbed. Even an IROC can't jump cars, so when its bad its bad. As far as I know they got valet service on
fri. and sat. nights but thats it. The other nights
you're on your own.
